Issue/Introduction

The below message is displayed during  bulk Migration validation check,
Message: VMware Tools is outdated on this virtual machine.

Environment

Cause

This message appears in the following scenarios:

• The virtual machine is using open-vm-tools (OVT).
• The virtual machine is running a version of VMware Tools that is older than the ESXi host version.

Resolution

Requirements for bulk migration is that virtual machines must have VMware Tools installed. It is strongly recommended to run the latest version of VMware Tools, as this helps avoid known issues that may have already been addressed in newer releases, ensuring smoother operations and minimizing the risk of delays. However, you may proceed with the bulk migration without updating VMware Tools to the latest version.
