Performing a sync of subscribed library item with multiple tags under same category is deleting the additional tags from the library item and vCenter.

Issue/Introduction

• When you perform a synchronization of a subscribed library item with multiple tags under same category, only one tag remains attached to the item.
• Other tags are detached from the item and also removed and no longer present in "vSphere Client /Tags & Custom Attributes".

Environment

vCenter Server 8.x

Resolution

• Broadcom engineering is aware of this issue and fix will be part of  vCenter 8.0 P06 and VCF 9.0
• As a workaround, you can use multiple tags with different categories 

  eg: [tag-1, cat-1] [tag-2, cat-2]
