Issue/Introduction

When the Admin Console is configured to use a specific hostname, Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), or HTTPS, the default redirection link within the Operator Console (OC) may require manual adjustment. This ensures that users selecting the Admin Console from the OC dropdown menu are routed to the correct endpoint. This configuration is managed via the ump_common section of the wasp probe.

Cause

The Operator Console requires a specific configuration key to override the default local redirection when the Admin Console is hosted on a different URL or requires a specific protocol (HTTPS).

Resolution

Update the Admin Console redirection URL by performing the following steps in the wasp probe:

1. Open the wasp probe Raw Configure window on the Operator Console robot using Infrastructure Manager (IM) or Admin Console (AC).
2. Navigate to the ump_common section.
3. Click "New Key"
4. For Key Name, enter: adminconsole_url
5. For Value, enter the full destination address.
   Example: http://####/adminconsoleapp/
   
6. Click OK to save the key.
7. Click OK again to apply the configuration.
   Note: The wasp probe will automatically restart to apply the new settings. Verify the redirection by selecting the Admin Console from the Operator Console menu.

Additional Information

For issues where the redirection fails despite the key being present, ensure the wasp probe on the Primary Hub is also validated for security permissions.
