When creating configuration drift we are receiving 403 forbidden error.
Aria Suite 8.18.x
The 403 Forbidden error typically occurs when the user or service account does not have the necessary permission to perform the requested operation.
In the context of creating the configuration drift, this error may be due to insufficient privileges on the vCenters or Aria Operations, specially the account being used might not have the required administrative rights, or there might be restrictions in the configuration of role-based access control (RBAC) policies.
Below are some pointers we need to check as pre-requisite for configuration drift:
Ensure that the user or service account has appropriate permissions to manage configuration drift and access configuration management settings in both vCenter and Aria Operations.
Add the user to the Administrator group on vCenter if not already done.
Verify that the correct roles and privileges are assigned for the tasks associated with configuration drift, both in vCenter and Aria Operations, and check if any restrictions are in place due to RBAC policies.
Review any proxy or firewall settings that might block the communication between Aria Operations and vCenter, ensuring proper access permissions are granted through network security layers.
If the issue persists, review the logs (ConfigAdapter_xxxxx.log) for any detailed error messages related to permission denials or access issues that could further guide troubleshooting.
