Wrong NSX Manager URL reported on the DVS Summary page

Issue/Introduction

The NSX Manager URL reported on NSX-managed DVS switches in vCenter is wrong/incorrect.

Environment

VMware vCenter

VMware NSX

Cause

An incorrect PTR record for the NSX Manager VIP/IP causes this behavior. 

This can be confirmed in the NSX Manager /var/log/cm-inventory/cm-inventory.log file.  A message such as this will show the PTR record response to a FQDN lookup:

INFO ClusterNodeConfigListener-1-1 IpAddressUtils 86279 - [nsx@6876 comp="nsx-manager" level="INFO" subcomp="cm-inventory"] getFqdnFromIp(): returning FQDN : <NSX_VIP_FQDN> for IP: <IP Address of VIP>

Resolution

Update the DNS PTR record to reflect the correct URL.  Once the FQDN lookup refreshes, the vCenter UI will show the correct URL.
