Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Harvest to 14.5, the following error is generated when starting Workbench:

Failed to create the Java Virtual Machine

In our investigation, we found that Java.exe does exist in %CA_SCM_HOME%\bin\java, but running java -v from that folder results in a Java error.

When running C:\Program Files\CA\SCM\JREInstall.bat we see multiple occurrences of:

ERROR: Cannot delete output file : Access is denied: C:\Program Files\CA\SCM\jre\bin\<FILE_NAME>.dll

Harvest 14.5

Windows

Resolution

After following these steps:

  1. Uninstall Harvest
  2. Reinstall Harvest 14.5
  3. Install Harvest 14.5.01 

The issue was resolved.
