Unable to Grow Datastore

Issue/Introduction

When trying to grow a datastore the operation completes, however the datastore does not show that the size has increased at all in vCenter or directly from the ESXi host.

Environment

ESXi (All versions)

vCenter (All versions)

Cause

This is due to an issue with the GTP table on the datastores caused by was two storage initiators accessing the same storage for the same cluster. The issue can be seen in the /var/run/log/vmkernel.log on the ESXi host.

Example:

Error: The backup GPT table is not at the end of the disk.

 

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by using Storage vMotion to empty the datastores and then recreate the datastores after the environment has been
