Automation Point

Issue/Introduction

From what I understand, this was no longer needed in 11.7. My question is it no longer necessary? If so, is there a reason this file wasn't deleted as part of the new install process. And, finally, is it just a simple Delete of caapnfy.war and caapnfy.log?

Environment

Automation Point R17, SP1 and higher R17 service packs

Cause

The CAAPNFY files were required at both the R17 base level and prior releases

Resolution

The CAAPNFY facility "no longer applies once you have installed Automation Point Release 11.7 - Service Pack 1 or later," as seen in the Note boxes in several places of the 11.7 documentation set.

The files were kept in the R17.0 base files by design in order to allow for a transition period for those customers upgrading from an earlier release of Automation Point.  If there is not a business reason to get rid of the files, there is no harm to continue to run with the .WAR and .LOG files.

However, if there is a need to cleanup unused files, go into the configuration manager and ensure that the notification manager website is disabled.  Once confirmation is made that the notification manager is disabled, the .WAR and .LOG files for CAAPNFY can just be deleted.

The recommended method to clean up these files, however, is to uninstall Automation Point and then install the latest Automation Service Pack.
