Issue/Introduction

• Using the Lifecycle Manager to update our ESXi hosts
• After selecting the image and driver packs, you receive an error message on pre-check during the cluster check:
  'vSphere ESX Agent Manager' service, running on 'cluster 'Anesthesiology'', reported issue: Agency ########-####-####-####-############ is unable to determine required solutions from its configured offline depots.
• Reviewing the lifecycle.log you see similar messages:
  lifecycle: 6379383: ComponentScanner:695 INFO Found problem: Component MRVL-E4-CNA-Driver-Bundle_5.0.305.0-1OEM.700.1.0.15843807 obsoletes MRVL-E4-CNA-Driver-Bundle_1.0.0.0-1vmw.703.0.20.19193900

Cause

The currently installed driver is at a higher level than the driver in the currently selected Vendor Add-on.

Resolution

Vendor add-ons can be found on the support portal site.  See VMware vSphere downloads, OEM custom images, patches and addons in the Broadcom Support Portal to access.  Check for a newer version of your Vendor add-on.  You can review the release notes to see what is included in the package.
