Issue/Introduction

The following error can be found in vCenter in relation to an ESXi host

ERROR: No coredump target has been configured. Host core dumps cannot be saved

Environment

VMware ESXI 7.x
VMware ESXI 8.x

Cause

This is because a core dump target hasn't been configured yet or has been removed.

Resolution

This KB can resolve the issue if you want to configure a core dump partition.
