Protection Groups and Recovery Plan tabs missing from Site Recovery Manager

Issue/Introduction

When logged into the Site Recovery UI, you notice that the Protection Groups and Recovery Plans tabs are missing:

 

Environment

Site Recovery Manager 8.x +

Live Site Recovery 9.x +

Cause

Either option below:

  • The Site Recovery Manager appliances have not been deployed or configured
  • The site pairings have not been created between both Site Recovery Manager appliances

Resolution

If you have not deployed an SRM appliance per vCenter, go ahead and follow the documentation on deploying and configuring SRM:

 

If you have deployed and configured  an SRM appliance on per vCenter, then follow the steps below to create the SRM Site Pairs:

  1. Click on the 'Site Recovery' button on the top left of the SRM UI screen
  2. Click on 'New Site Pair'



  3. Follow the 'New Pair' wizard


 


Once you have deployed, configured and created the SRM site pairings, then you will see the Protection Groups and Recovery Groups tabs that SRM offers.
