Issue/Introduction

TIBCO JVM crashed which has APM java agent installed. It crashed after restart. It is generated a Heap dump.

Cause

Heap dumps showed sun.security.ssl.sslsocketimpl objects as the potential leak suspects with 2,274 instances of "sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl" taking up 44.16% heap space in the 1st dump and 9,728 instances of "sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl" taking up 74.71% heap space in the 2nd dump. 

Resolution

For now a possible resolution is to disable SocketTracing until you deploy the updated agent build with the potential fixes included. Broadcom APM agent DEV team is working on new agent that would include these fixes. The expected time of some of these fixes are during this summer.
