VCF Brownfield import sync operation failure with error: "SDDC Manager token generation: 401"

Issue/Introduction

• Sync workflow on vSphere environment imported to SDDC manager workload domain fails.

• commonsvcs.log has the following entries: Allowed clock skew: 0 milliseconds

 

 

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.x

Cause

This issue is due to clock skew difference between the vCenter server and SDDC manager

Resolution

Following steps to be performed to resolve the issue.

1. Check the NTP settings of the vCenter server appliance and SDDC manager

2. Remove any unreachable NTP servers and configure it with a valid NTP servers

3. Perform the sync operation as per the document: Manage Workload Domain Configuration Drift Between vCenter Server and SDDC Manager
