Issue/Introduction

The Timesheet Effort Gauge is determining the Resource Availability number from the defined shifts on the Resource Calendar instead of using the value on the Resource's 'Availability' (rate) field. The Availability rate is automatically determined when there are updates made to the Calendar Shifts, however, it is possible for the user to override the value in the Availability field with a manual entry.
When a manual entry is made in this field, it spreads the daily rate into the existing Calendar Shifts. Throughout MUX, the Resource Availability curve uses the value from the Resource's Availability (rate) field.  Therefore, the Timesheet Effort Gauge is incorrect as compared to the Availability found on the Resources Workspace, Investments Staff and Staffing Workspace.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Find or create a Resource that has a Calendar with shifts of 7.5 hrs per day.
  2. Go to the Resource Properties page and set the 'Availability' (rate) field to 7.00 hrs per day.
  3. Go to MUX, Timesheets workspace, My Timesheets page.
  4. Search for this Resource and make a note of the Availability. It shows 35.00 for a typical week. (35.00 = 7.00 x 5 days).
  5. Select this Resource and click 'View' to go into their weekly Timesheet. Make a note of the Availability in the Effort Gauge.
Expected Results: The Effort Gauge should show 35.00 hours for a typical 5-day work week.

Actual Results: The Effort Gauge shows 37.50 hours for the week.  It is using the Calendar Shifts to determine the total hours for the week. (7.50 x 5 = 37.50).

Resolution

Reviewed by Engineering as DE169391, this issue is targeted in next release as a part of a user story

Workaround: One workaround is to adjust the daily shifts to be in line with the desired daily rate, but this may not be desired or may cause extra work for administering Resource Calendars.
