vCenter collection in Usage Meter fails with "Credentials Verification Failure"

Issue/Introduction

• Post adding a vCenter the Usage Meter UI shows the error message "Credentials Verification Failure".
• Similar issue can found when Usage Meter UI keeps loading after adding credentials.

Got hostname from CN: vcloud_usage_WRONG.example.com, expected: vcloud_usage_CORRECT.example.com. Please, change the hostname to match the CN, or renew the certificate.

Environment

VMware vCloud Usage Meter 4.8

Cause

FQDN of the appliance had been changed and therefore the FQDN in the self signed certificate was no longer matching.

Resolution

Replace Usage Meter certificate by following the document: vCloud Usage Meter Certificate Management.
