Issue/Introduction

Symptoms: 

Generate Load Module with option DEBUG under the Application Test Facility results in TIRTRCE UNRESOLVED error message i.e.

IEW2322I 1220 182 REPLACE CEESG005 

IEW2322I 1220 183 INCLUDE APPLOAD(ASQP070B) 

IEW2322I 1220 184 NAME ASQP070B(R) 

IEW2456E 9207 SYMBOL TIRTRCE UNRESOLVED. MEMBER COULD NOT BE INCLUDED FROM THE 

IEW2638S 5384 AN EXECUTABLE VERSION OF MODULE ASQP070B EXISTS AND CANNOT BE REPL 

IEW2689W 4C40 DEFINITION SIDE FILE IS NOT DEFINED. 

Why can't module TIRTRCE be located.

 

Resolution:

  • Diagram Trace is not supported for IMS, so there is no IMPORT CODE statement for TIRTRCE generated.
  • To run with Trace you need to target CICS or TSO TEST. Only Blockmode and Batch is supported.
  • Tracing servers is not supported using the TSO Trace Facility & DTF must be used.

 

Additional Information:

Please reference the CA GEN 8.5 Host Construction guide, page 33: The generator ignores this option for server load modules installation. Testing servers under the TSO test facility is not supported.
