Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

New deployment failed with 'Failed to register VRMS' error

Environment

Live Site Recovery (all versions)

Cause

SRM registration with vCenter may fail if forward and reverse DNS for the FQDN are not properly configured. This prevents secure communication, service discovery, and certificate validation.

Resolution

• A prerequisite for registering a new SRM appliance with vCenter is to ensure that both forward and reverse DNS resolution are properly configured.
• Verify using nslookup:  nslookup IP_Address_of_SRM and nslookup FQDN_of_SRM

• Engage the internal network team if necessary
