ESXi TN NSX configuration state in "partial success" state - failing with the error - "TransportNodeProfile has VDS configuration but HostProfileEngine did not create VDS on host post reboot before timeout."

Issue/Introduction

The host cannot be prepared for NSX as the stateful workflow is done on a stateless host. The host remains in Partial Success.

Relevant logs: 

• NSX Manager: /var/log/proton/nsxapi.log

Environment

VMware NSX with stateless hosts 

Cause

Stateless host not correctly identified.

 

 

Resolution

Workaround:

1. SSH into NSX Manager [admin].
2. Run restart cm-inventory service
3. Reprepare host for NSX and verify installation is successful.
