Issue/Introduction

Nutanix array had a physical power issue causing Nutanix controller virtual machines to power off.

Powered off vm's showed two datastores where there should only be one.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x

Nutanix AOS from 5.5.x

Cause

ISO DVD is mounted on the virtual machine and is not longer accessible.

Failing to access the virtual machine ISO mount prevents the vm from powering on.

Resolution

1. Access the virtual machine settings.

- Go To virtual machine > Action > Edit Settings > CD/DVD drive1 >

2. Look for attached iso.

3. Set DVD/CD to Client Device.

4. Verify that the ISO Datastore has been removed form VM inventory.

5. Power on the VM
