Linux distribution release is not getting updated

Issue/Introduction

For some servers linux distribution details did not get updated in Infrastructure manager even after UIM was upgraded to CU3

Example

Environment

UIM 23.4.x (CU3)

OS :RHEL 

Robot :23.4.3

Resolution

There is no specific mentioning of any version of Rhel which are not being supported in Robot support Matrix but "Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6" is no longer supported by Red Hat, as its Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS) add-on ended on June 30, 2024.

The linux distribution details are fetched from /etc/os-release file which is not present in Rhel6.This is the reason distribution details are not reflecting for Rhel6 and it is just showing Linux but for Rhel 7.9, distribution details are coming correctly as it has /etc/os-release file.

We have considered /etc/os-release file as it is standard way but as Rhel6 is very old version so it does not have os-release file.

We did not consider Rhel6 as it is no longer supported version.
