vCenter tasks for "Retrieve a virtual storage object" and "Sync volume" are failing continuously in an environment using container volumes (Kubernetes) on shared datastores across multiple vCenters
VMware vCenter Server
When a datastore is shared between vCenter instances, volumes created by one vCenter become visible to CNS in the other vCenter.
Note: It is not supported to share datastores across vCenters when using CNS
Change the storage configuration (separate datastores for each vCenter) in order to avoid this conflict.
vSphere Functionality Supported by vSphere Container Storage Plug-in
"vSphere Container Storage Plug-in does not support datastores shared across vCenter Server instances."
Note:
With the architectural changes introduced in VCF/vSphere 9.x, internal platform components now utilize CNS volumes. These volumes are managed by CNS residing on the management vCenter. Therefore, irrespective of whether Kubernetes is used or not, CNS does not support datastores shared across multiple vCenter Server instances.
