Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The vSAN datastore capacity utilization may suddenly show increased and report warnings on vSAN Skyline health.

• The vSAN Skyline Health Test History show that the utilization was spiked in a short period. 

Environment

VMware vSAN 7.x

VMware vSAN 8.x

Cause

The issue would occur when simultaneous snapshots are taken for multiple VMs and retained without consolidating.   

Resolution

Consolidate the snapshots timely if they were taken manually and monitor for the snapshot if they were left behind by backup applications.
