integration configuration to vCenter revert unexpectedly in Aria Operations for Logs

Issue/Introduction

In a vCloud Foundation environment, running Aria Operations for Logs, there is an integration configured with vSphere using the vSphere administrator account.

If reconfiguring the integration to authenticate using a service account, the credentials revert to the local vSphere administrator account used initially.

Environment

Aria Operations for Logs 8.x

VCF 5.2.1

Cause

Whenever SDDC rotates the local vSphere administrator password, the workflow updates the credentials for the Operations for Logs to vSphere integration for that specific vSphere.

This results in the service account credentials being overwritten.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution to this issue.

It is possible the workflow will be changed in an upcoming release.
