Unable to generate and renew certification on SDDC manager UI.

Issue/Introduction

  • On the SDDC Manager Certificate Management page all options appears greyed out. 
  • A red banner indicating an error "Certificate installation has failed" can be seen on top of the page.
  • At least one of the components reports on the "Certificate Operation Status" the same error.
  • The certificate installation appears to have been completed successfully and the component presents a new certificate issued from the SDDC manager. 

Environment

VMware SDDC Manager 4.x
VMware SDDC Manager 5.x

Cause

This is a known issue with certain versions of SDDC manager and planned to be fixed in a future release.

Resolution

Since the work around requires database changes, please log a ticket with GSS, reference this KB article and we can assist with the problem.
