VMware Cloud Director: How to add a network pool for a Provider VDC which currently has none

Issue/Introduction

• A Provider VDC was created in vCloud Director with no network backing
• Requirements may change for the PVDC, so that networking such as an NSX-T must be associated with the existing provider VDC
• NSX-T has been recently deployed and guidance is required on how to associate the NSX-T manager with the existing provider VDC

Environment

• VMware Cloud Director 10.6.1

Resolution

• An NSX-T Manager cannot be added to an existing Provider VDC.
  
  • In order to have the NSX-T associated, you will need to create a new Provider VDC.
  • The NEW Provider VDC can then be merged with the Existing PVDC.
