Unable to apply vSAN storage license

Issue/Introduction

When trying to assign a vSAN license key with 32TB capacity, it errors out saying the current consumption is 35TB. 

Environment

VMware vSAN 7.x
VMware vSAN 8.x

Cause

Licensed capacity is less than the actual vSAN cluster capacity currently in use.

 

Resolution

Contact account team and purchase vSAN license that can accommodate  vSAN cluster capacity in use plus future growth.
