Issue/Introduction

Devtest is using internal database and when we do load test on this environment frequently, database folder size has reached to 25GB. Are there any properties exists to clean this database

Cause

Derby only supported out of the box.  Need to use an enterprise database.

Environment

All supported DevTest releases and databases.

Resolution

It is not recommend to use internal database (Derby database) when doing load or performance test. You need to configure Registry to connect to external database by referring to section "External Registry Database Configuration" in the documentation of the DevTest release you are running.

If you do not require old data from database, stop all Devtest components and we can recreate database by taking backup of existing database by renaming database/lisa.db to database/lisa.db.bak and start the Registry service. Once registry is ready, fresh database will be created and used by Registry.

Other approach to clean data or reporting data from database is, by changing report expiration date through lisa.properties file. By default, registry will clean report data which is older than 30 days. We can reduce this value by modifying perfmgr.rvwiz.whatrpt.expireTimer property in lisa.properties file and restarting the components.
