Preventing asset creation to an ITAM role

Issue/Introduction

Administrators want to prevent users from creating an asset in ITAM

 

Environment

ITAM 17.x

Resolution

1. Log in to Asset Portfolio Management as a user with the System Administrator role

2. Click the Asset tab

3. Select New Asset under the Menu section  

4. Click CONFIGURE: ON

5. Under the Configuration Information section Click configuration > check the "across all families" checkbox 

6. Move "Create" from Granted Permissions to Denied Permissions

7. Save Configuration

8. Go to Administration > User/Role Management > Role Search > Click on the Role you want to restrict

9. Go to Role Configuration > Click on the "Select New" button and add the new configuration

10. Save Changes

11. Log in as the user with the modified role. The "New Asset" will be grayed out.
