Performing a safely backup of the APM Smarstor database

Issue/Introduction

We would like to copy smartstor data from one server to another one.

Is it possible to copy that data stopping the EM of the source collector or is it necessary to stop the whole Introscope environment (MOM and all the collectors)?

Resolution

There is no need to stop all the APM Introscope Enterprise Manager (EMs):

 

Below the recommended steps:

 

1) Stop the interested APM Introscope Enterprise Manager (EM)

2) Perform backup or copy of databases (smartstor, heuristic and traces) folders, their locations are defined in below properties:

3) Once process is completed,  if required, you can start the EM again
