improper handling of cross vCenter vMotions / VM reconciliation

Issue/Introduction

• after the VM was migrated to a different vCenter, the VM reconciliation process completed and the VM shows visible in the new vCenter, in Aria Automation portal
• but some time later the VM shows to be located at the old vCenter
• when searching for the VM name, at least 2 results are seen with different status for each
• checking in Assembler -> Resources -> Deployments -> [Your_Cloud_Template] -> [Your_VM] -> Custom Properties, you will see "migrationStatus=FAILED".

   

Environment

Aria Automation 8.18.1

Resolution

The issue is addressed with Aria Automation 8.18.1 Patch 2.

As a workaround please use the VM unregister and onboard feature instead attempting the cross vCenter Migration.
