Issue/Introduction

Symptoms: 

  • A vSAN Capacity disk recently failed.
  • The host was rebooted following the disk failure.
  • The host stops responding and displays a purple diagnostic screen similar to the following:

  • The host may continue to fail with similar PSOD after each subsequent boot attempt.

Environment

  • vSAN 8.x

Cause

  • This may initially be triggered following reboot after failure of vSAN capacity disk (OSA).
  • The PSOD itself is a known issue that is due to be fix in a future release.

Resolution

To fix this issue, remove the faulty disk from host.
