VAMI fails to start and displaying the error "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"

Issue/Introduction

VAMI interface is not displayed. 

Environment

vCenter Sever 7.0 and later

Cause

Although Applmgnt service is running. 

vami-lighttp service fails with errors similar to the following:

Run the following command to assist with troubleshooting

 

• systemctl status vami-lighttp.service
  If the status of the service looks similar to below ,  apply the resolution

Resolution

To resolve the issue, edit

/opt/vmware/etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf

comment out the "duplicate" config variable identified when running the systemctl status vai-lighttpd

in the case above comment out:

#ssl.ca-file
