Issue/Introduction
After upgrading the network card firmware and ESXi host version, connectivity to other hosts via the vSAN network was lost.
- Driver and firmware information
bnxtnet driver: 220.0.9.0 Firmware: 223.0.205.0
- Nic card information
14e4 16d7 14e4 4141 Broadcom BCM57414 NetXtreme-E 10Gb/25Gb RDMA Ethernet Controller
Environment
ESXi 8.x
Cause
- Driver 220.0.9.0 is not compatible with ESXi 8.x due to its absence from the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).
- The network card's firmware and driver are out of sync.
Resolution
1. Follow the steps to Determining Network/Storage firmware and driver version in ESXi
