Enabling NSX Management Pack is overwhelming our collector nodes

Issue/Introduction

• Enabling NSX Management Pack overwhelming resources on our Aria collector nodes which arises when collecting BGP routes.
• After enabling "AS Path" and "Next Hop IP Address" metrics in the policy on the NSX adapter Router Service object, the collector service crashes and heapdumps within a few hours.
• As a temporary workaround, the "Logical Router Service" collection has been disabled in the NSX adapter configuration

 

Environment

 Aria Operations 8.18.2

Cause

BGP Service objects generating large numbers of distinct BGPNeighborInstancedMetric metric keys.

Resolution

• Disable the "AS Path" and "Next Hop IP" Address metrics in the policy as described in the Resolution of Aria Operations stops collecting data due to large number of distinct NSX BGP Neighbor Instanced Metric metric keys.
• From the Inventory Management page in the Aria Operations UI, delete objects named "BGP Service" of object type "Router Service"
• Re-enable collection of "Logical Router Service" objects, if they were previously disabled in the NSX adapter instance configurations.
