Packet capture with file-count option fails on and NSX Edge

• Packet capture fails for "Permission denied" error if file-count option is used on NSX Edge
  edge> start capture interface eth0 file counttest.pcap file-count 25
% A packet capture error occurred: /var/vmware/nsx/tmp/eth0.pcap00: Permission denied

Environment

VMware NSX 4.1
VMware NSX 4.2
VMware NSX 9.0

Cause

Internally we use tcpdump for packet capture and -W and -C options to rotate files for file-count option.

Due to permission issue, -C option does not work.

Resolution

The issue has been fixed in NSX 4.2.3 and planned to be fixed in future NSX 9.0 releases.

Packet capture works fine without file-count option.
