Unable to delete a VM directory on vSAN Datastore

Issue/Introduction

In some cases, a VM directory may remain in the vSAN datastore as a result of a failed Cross vCenter Migration.
An attempt to delete the VM directory using the vCenter GUI fails with the message 'Cannot delete file [vsanDatastore] <uuid>'

Environment

ESXi 8.0.x
ESXi 7.0.x
vSAN

Cause

A VM directory may remain in the vSAN datastore as a result of a failed Cross vCenter Migration requiring manual cleanup.

Resolution

Open a Broadcom Support ticket for assistance in removing the directory.
