Set the timezone within JavaScript code in VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator

Issue/Introduction

• Want to change the time zone as reported by time functions inside a workflow, as distinct from:
  
  • (Linux) system time (where only UTC is officially supported),
  • The time zone seen in the GUI (set by the browser on client machine)
• This affects the time which is shown in Orchestrator log files, within the messages themselves
  • (the message's own timestamp is in system time)

Environment

• VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator

Resolution

• This can be achieved through the Orchestrator package attached to the KB: com.vmware.pso.moment.js.package.zip
• "MomentJS javascript library to parse, validate, manipulate and display date/time, converted into two actions (and a workflow with a couple of examples). It also manages daylight saving time"
