VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator Plug-in for Amazon EC2 fails to recognize the newer, "gen 7" instanceType

Issue/Introduction

• The seventh generation Amazon EC2 instances are not supported by the Orchestrator plugin included up to 8.18.1
• Cannot create enum from m7i.2xlarge value - the following example JavaScript code fails:
  • var instanceType = EC2InstanceType.fromValue("m7i.2xlarge");

 

Environment

• VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator 8.x

Resolution

• Attached to this article is an updated Amazon EC2 plugin for Orchestrator which supports the newer instance types.
• The plugin is compatible with Aria Orchestrator 8.16.1 or later.
  • Older versions of Automation/Orchestrator are EOS and should be upgraded to ensure continued support.
