As of June 30, 2025, JBoss EAP 7.4 is reaching its end of support. This article provides important information regarding compatibility with IGA 14.5 and available options for customers currently using JBoss EAP 7.4.x.
IGA 14.5
Current IGA 14.5 Compatibility
IGA 14.5 is certified for use with Java 8 and JBoss EAP 7.4.x. However, JBoss EAP 8.x requires Java 17 or later, which makes it incompatible with IGA 14.5 at this time. As a result, Broadcom is currently unable to certify IGA 14.5 with JBoss EAP 8.x.
Options for Customers Using IGA 14.5 with JBoss EAP 7.4.x
For customers currently using IGA 14.5 with JBoss EAP 7.4.x, there are two available options:
Option 1: Purchase Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) for JBoss EAP 7.4.x
Customers may choose to purchase Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS) for JBoss EAP 7.4.x directly from Red Hat. This option provides continued support for JBoss EAP 7.4.x beyond its official end-of-life date.
For more information on Extended Lifecycle Support, please visit Red Hat’s official documentation: More Info on ELS from Red Hat
Option 2: Upgrade to IGA v15
Customers are encouraged to plan an upgrade to IGA v15, which will include support for JBoss EAP 8.x and OpenJDK 21.x. IGA v15 is expected to be released in Q3–Q4 of 2025, with a tentative release date around mid-2025.
IGA Office Hours
