Unable to Remove Expired Certificate from VCD Certificate Library.

Issue/Introduction

The option to delete an expired certificate is not available in the certificate library.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.5.x and above.

Cause

The expired certificate is still being used by one or more cloud cells, which disables the delete option in the UI.

Resolution

• Assign a valid certificate to the affected cloud cells to ensure the expired certificate is no longer in use.
  If no valid certificate is available, replace the expired certificate by following the steps in the KB article:
  https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article?articleNumber=379244
• Once the expired certificate is not in use by any cloud cell, the delete option will become available.

Additional Information

Ensure that all cloud cells are updated with the valid certificate before attempting deletion.
