Issue/Introduction

Can you remove FreeType without impacting Carbon Black (CB) Endpoint Detection Response (EDR) server?

Environment

Carbon Black Endpoint Detection Response 7.8.1

Host operating system: Redhat Enterprise (RHEL) 8.10

Resolution

FreeType is installed as part of the operating system itself.

Carbon Black Endpoint Detection Response server does not use this component. Removing / uninstalling FreeType will not have any negative impact on the EDR server functionality.

Freetype is installed from the BaseOS repository.
