Issue/Introduction

  • Critical Alarm Triggered stating the following error:
The number of objects defined in the system for Services has reached <2501> which is above the maximum supported count of 2500.
  • NSX Managers sizes are MEDIUM

Environment

VMware NSX 4.1.x

Cause

On NSX Manager nodes sized MEDIUM, the maximum supported number of services objects is 2,500. This alarm is triggered when the number of service objects exceeds this limit.

Resolution

To accommodate a higher number of services, consider resizing the NSX Manager nodes to a LARGE size, which supports up to 8,000 services instead of 2,500. This is referenced in the NSX Configuration Maximums documentation.

Follow the resizing steps and options outlined here: Resize an NSX Manager Node.

This alarm will automatically clear once the number of objects of the specified type decreases below the defined threshold.
