Question:

Can the IEC161I 056-084 or IEC161I 062-082 messages be suppressed? 

Answer:

The IEC161I 056-084 and IEC161I 062-082 messages are issued by IBM when attempting to open a VSAM file which had previous been closed incorrectly.  This can happen when a job abends or more commonly, when a user times out when they are logged on to Endevor (a S222 ABEND). Usually the person who opens the VSAM file after the ABEND will received these IEC161I messages.   Unfortunately, there is no method to suppress these messages, they are coming from the IBM access of the file.
