VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

The identity source configuration for a VCF instance can be managed only within the VCF Operations console in which it was configured.

If the identity management of the VCF instance needs to be changed, the SSO configuration in the initial VCF Operations console must be reset, and re-performed again in the desired VCF instance.

If the initial VCF Operations console is down or not accessible, then follow the following procedure to acquire ownership of VCF instance in the desired Operations console

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0

Resolution

Pre-requisite

  1. The user that is going to perform this operation requires "VCIdentityProviders.Manage" and "Global.Settings" roles

Procedure

  1. Launch the client of the management domain vCenter for which ownership needs to be changed
  2. Navigate to 'Configure' → 'Settings' → 'Advanced Settings'
  3. Search for config.OPERATIONS.vcf.sso.ops.cluster.id and clear its value
  4. Click on 'Save'

5.Wait for 15 mins for the settings to be reflected
