Cloud Native Storage (CNS) volumes show as Non-compliant

Issue/Introduction

Cloud Native Storage (CNS) volumes have a Non-compliant status in the vSphere Client.

 

Environment

vCenter Server 8

Cause

This can happen when you use the vSphere Web Client to initiate a storage vMotion a VM that has a PVCs attached, select Batch Configure and choose a datastore that isn't compliant with CNS's configured storage policy.

Resolution

This will be fixed in a future release of vSphere. Reference Reconciling Discrepancies in the Managed Virtual Disk Catalog for a workaround.
