You want to enable Guest OS Lock while VM is powered on
Environment
VMware vSphere 8.0
VMware vSphere 7.0
Cause
VM is powered on and option to enable the Guest OS Lock is greyed out
Resolution
For you to enable Guest OS Lock on a VM, VM needs to be powered off.
While trying to enable the mentioned setting on a powered on VM, the option is greyed out
While trying to enable the mentioned setting on a powered off VM, the option is available
OR
If changing the value of parameter in VMX file "tools.guest.desktop.autolock" to true, VM needs to be rebooted in order for configuration to be updated.
