Trying to rollback to the desired previous version of your ESXi host is not available. The only option available is for the ESXi host previous version

Issue/Introduction

• You upgraded the ESXi host from version 7.0 to version 8.03b.
• After upgrading the ESXi host to version 8.03bm it was patched to version 8.03d.
• You want to roll back to ESXi 7.0.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0

Cause

This is expected as reverting to the earlier 7.0 version is not possible after upgrading to ESXi 8.03d from ESXi 8.03b.

The only option possible here would be to revert to the last 'version' which would be 8.03b.

Reinstall ESXi host. Please refer to ESXi Installation and Setup.
