Issue/Introduction

• When deploying a vApp from a catalog vApp template, the following error is displayed in the dialog when editing the compute settings:
  
  You need to select either sizing and placement compute policy.
  
  
• The issue does not occur if using a system administrator account.
• When reviewing the role assigned to the user, an error similar to the following occurs:
  
  Required implied right Catalog: View ACL has not been selected for selected right Catalog: Sharing
  
  Please note, this text is an example and the rights referenced may differ from the values in the error received.
  
  
• The VMware Cloud Director environment was recently upgraded and the issue did not occur prior to the upgrade.

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

Some VMware Cloud Director rights imply the need for additional rights since the implied rights are required for the selected right to function correctly. For example, the right to share out the catalog requires the ability to view the catalog ACL. In this case, the role is lacking the implied rights and does not provide these permissions until they are explicitly included.

Resolution

Update the role to include the missing implied rights referenced when reviewing the role (e.g., in the example above, add the Catalog: View ACL right). As the rights are corrected, additional implied rights warning messages may occur and each of these will need to be corrected to provide the desired permissions.
