Manually gather a current Usage Metering report for DX UIM

Issue/Introduction

At times it may be necessary to manually generate a Usage Metering report for DX UIM. This KB article describes the process for generating such a report.

Environment

• DX UIM - 20.4x and 24.3x
• usage_metering probe

Resolution

1. Double click the usage_metering probe in Infrastructure Manager to open the probe GUI

2. Navigate to the "Device Metering" tab and click the "Run Scan Now" button

3. Watch the probe log until you see the following message indicating that the scan is completed:

   [device_usage_scan_thread, com.nimsoft.nimbus.service.probe.usage_metering.device_metering.DeviceUsageScanMainThread] DeviceUsageScanMainThread finished 

4. Navigate to the "Calculation" tab and you will see several reports (one for each Origin in the environment.)

5. Highlight the "All Origin" line and click "Export" to export the full Usage Metering report.  You will be prompted for a location to save the file in HTML format.
