Manually gather a current Usage Metering report for DX UIM

Issue/Introduction

At times it may be necessary to manually generate a Usage Metering report for DX UIM. This KB article describes the process for generating such a report.

Environment

• DX UIM 24.3x
• usage_metering probe

Resolution

1. Initiate the Scan

1. 1. Double-click the usage_metering probe in Infrastructure Manager to open the probe GUI.
   2. Navigate to the Device Metering tab.
   3. Click the Run Scan Now button.

2. Verify Completion

Watch the probe log (right-click the probe in IM > View Log) for the following message, which indicates the scan is finished:

[device_usage_scan_thread, com.nimsoft.nimbus.service.probe.usage_metering.device_metering.DeviceUsageScanMainThread] DeviceUsageScanMainThread finished

3. Export the Report

1. 1. Navigate to the Calculation tab. You will see several reports listed (one for each Origin in the environment).
   2. Highlight the All Origin line.
   3. Click Export to save the full report.
   4. You will be prompted to choose a location to save the file in HTML format.
      
      
      

 

 

NOTE: To create the latest Report, input the YEAR and the MONTH, and then click RUN  and then Refresh
