How to power on VMs at production site after runing planned failover but before reprotecting

Issue/Introduction

After a planned failover is taken, Application is found to be not available in DR site.
The reprotection is given up and the request to power on the VM on the original site (production site) comes up.

Environment

VMware Site Recovery Manager  

Resolution

1.  power off VMs on DR site.
2. remove related recovery plan, protection group, replication.
3. remove VMs from inventory on production site.
4. register VMs back to production site.
5. power on VMs on production site.
